OAKLAND, Ca – On the heels of a six-game winning streak the Seattle Mariners look to carry that momentum as they open a seven-game road trip starting with a three-game series this weekend against the Oakland Athletics.

The series in Oakland starts tonight and the M's are calling on rookie Ariel Miranda, who will make his second start with the Mariners since being acquired from Baltimore for Wade Miley.

Fellow rookie Sean Manaea will take the mound for Oakland.

Miranda was the winning pitcher in Tuesday night’s 15 inning win against Detroit where he pitched an inning allowing one run.

Seattle leads the season series 5-4.

The Mariners (60-53) come into this weekend in second place in the AL West, 6 1/2 games behind the Texas Rangers and one game behind the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card race.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
