Assistant football coach among victims of Florida school shooting

    PARKLAND, Fla. (WPEC) - As details about what happened inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School begin to emerge, stories of incredible heroism are starting to emerge.

    A number of eyewitnesses have shared on social media the story of assistant football coach and school security guard Aaron Feis.

    Feis, a Douglas graduate, reportedly threw himself in front of students during the shooting.

    "I mean my son's football coach died. I think the football coach jumped in front of someone and got killed and he's a nice guy," a witness said.

    He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Thursday morning, the Douglas football team tweeted that coach Feis passed away overnight.

    • Scott Beige, 35
    • Joaquin Oliver, 17, senior

    ESPN'S Mark Jones reports, student Maddy Wilford was also among those shot, and is in the hospital. He says she was shot several times, and is facing her 3rd surgery.
