Ziply Fiber opens service in Yakima
YAKIMA-- If you live in Yakima, there's a new internet service you can look into.
Today, Ziply Fiber announced the launch of their fiber network here in Yakima after opening their network in Naches last week.
They say their network can provide some of the fastest internet speeds in the country right here in Yakima.
The network isn't all the way finished, but within the coming weeks they expect to ramp up service in the area.
"As of today, a few thousand are up, construction is still ongoing and ultimately north of tens of thousands, so the vast majority of the city will have fiber in a matter of weeks," said Ryan Luckin, VP of Marketing for Ziply Fiber.
Luckin says that the company will also look into expanding here in Yakima County by adding networks in rural areas that struggle with internet access.
