YAKIMA, Wa. -- With Father’s Day right around the corner the Yakima Valley Farm Worker's Clinic is reminding fathers to take care of their health.
During men’s health week YVFWC wants to encourage fathers to live longer and healthier lives by making regular annual doctor visits, get educated on heart disease and diabetes and much more.
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic’s Internal Medicine Pediatrician Victoria Fox-Behrle says men are less likely than women to seek out mental health services.
“Conditions like depression, anxiety and even insomnia can really lead to worse health outcomes so it is important to get those treated and we encourage people to reach out if they’re having symptoms of those conditions,” said Fox-Behrle.
YVFWC is participating in Wear Blue Day on Friday where people are encouraged to wear blue to increase awareness for men’s health.
Everybody is invited to participate and take pictures wearing blue with the hashtag #showusyourblue.
