Yakima -- Police say they have arrested a teenager who is accused of stealing more than $300,000 from a safe.
On November 13, officers say a man reported a burglary at his home in the 200 block of Shadbolt Lane in Yakima.
According to reports, the homeowner told police that someone broke into his basement and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from his safe.
Officers say the homeowner accused his housekeeper's 18-year-old son, Saul Gonzalez, of stealing the money because the boy had been jailed for stealing from him in the past.
On November 18, officials say the homeowner went to Gonzalez's house and confronted his mother about the stolen money.
Police say the homeowner and the teen's mother searched Gonzalez's bedroom and found a backpack stuffed with cash.
Reports say the homeowner immediately took the cash to Gesa Credit Union where $322,000 was counted.
Later that day, officers say they were able to locate Gonzalez and they arrested him for the stolen money.
Police say Gonzalez admitted that he stole the money and was booked into jail.
