Yakima Bicycle Master Plan is approved by council members
YAKIMA, Wash. -- People will soon be able to ride their bikes to get around Yakima.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, Yakima councilmembers approved a long-term plan to establish a network of safe bike paths.
The network includes more bike lanes, more connections for trails like the Greenway and giving everyone on the sidewalks more space.
The plan is set to progress with the road work that is done to maintain streets.
Councilmember Jason White said the plan will cost the city around $7 million over the next 20 to 30 years.
All public comments during the council meeting were in favor of the bike plan.
