Woman leads Toppenish police on high-speed chase
TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Police say a 39-year-old woman was arrested after she sent Toppenish cops on a high-speed chase, during the early morning hours of Saturday.
They say it happened on Frontage Road, near a homeless camp around 1:20 AM.
According to the Toppenish Police Department Facebook page, police say the driver, Shiena Watlamett, drove toward oncoming traffic, momentarily on Highway 97, and she also drove through a hops field at speeds over 100 miles an hour.
Police say a few minutes into the chase, the suspect’s car broke down.
They were able to arrest Watlamett and her three passengers, at gunpoint.
Yakama Nation Police and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office assisted.
