Woman hospitalized in Yakima drive-by shooting
YAKIMA, Wash. - A woman has been hospitalized after police say she was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting.
Yakima police said the shooting victim, a 39-year-old Native American woman, was walking just after midnight Tuesday in the area of South Naches and East Chestnut when a dark vehicle approached her.
The woman informed police the driver shot at her from the vehicle, hitting her multiple times.
Reports of shots fired came in to police around 12:53 a.m. and when police arrived in the area, they found the gunshot victim walking. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a dark Cadillac CTS. The victim described the alleged shooter as a Hispanic man in his late 20s with a mustache and short hair.
Police say no one is in custody in this shooting.
