Washington travelers can stop by various libraries in the state and win prizes

Yakima Wa. -- Families traveling around Washington this summer will have a reason to stop in at libraries along the way.

According to a press release, a Passport to Washington Libraries is a state program that will offer bookstore gift cards for people visiting various libraries around the state.

Travelers must visit at least five Washington libraries, take creative photos and post them to a crowd – sourced state map.

State Librarian Cindy Aden says this is a great way for people to visit libraries more often and learn about all the resources they provide.

Visitors who post photographs to will be eligible to win bookstore gift cards of $50, $75, and $100.

In order to win prizes, participants must register at, and at least two of the library visits must be 50 miles or more from the visitor’s hometown.
