Union Gap working with WSDOT to relieve truck traffic near mall and schools
UNION GAP, Wash.- Union Gap and the Department of Transportation are working together to move semi-truck traffic away from the Valley Mall.
As of right now, the only way to reach the highways is through the round-abouts near I-82 or going down Main Street to US 97.
Both the city and DOT want to add another on-ramp to both to take traffic away from school zones and popular shopping areas.
When complete, the South Union Gap Interchange will provide full access in all directions on I-82 and US 97.
There will be a meeting at the Union Gap Activity Building, off Ahutanum Road, on Tuesday at 4 p.m. to answer any questions the public may have.
