YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima police are asking the community for input over whether or not officers should be permitted to have visible tattoos.

The Yakima Police Department (YPD) is considering changing its policy which currently prohibits officers from having tattoos that are visible.

The YPD posted on its Facebook page Thursday regarding a survey that asks participants if they believe visible tattoos on officers is unprofessional.

The two-question survey is now open online.
