Student arrested for bringing gun to Davis High School
YAKIMA, Wash. – A high school student in Yakima is arrested after he was discovered to have a gun.
Yakima police arrested the student at Davis High School around noon, Tuesday.
The police resource officer removed the student from campus temporarily while officials investigate.
Director of Community and Public Relations for YSD Kirsten Fitterer said everyone was safe and no further incidents occurred as a result of the gun being brought to the school.
The district said they called all parents and advised them to talk to their children about what happened.
Police are working with school staff to thoroughly investigate the situation as no weapons are allowed on campus.
