Seattle flight headed to Baltimore turns back after mechanical issue

SEATTLE -- Southwest Airlines Flight 5489 departed from Seattle and was headed for Baltimore on Monday afternoon when the flight had to return back to Seattle after mechanical issues, according to Southwest Airlines.

The plane reportedly had a performance issue with the nose gear and landed safely back in Seattle.

According to Southwest Airlines, the airline had another plane ready upon their arrival back in Seattle to take the passengers to Baltimore.

"We apologize for the delay in service, the Safety of our Customers and Crew is paramount," Southwest Airlines wrote in an email.
