Pacific Northwest University will host Run for your Life 5K this weekend
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A local medical school wants you to run for your life this weekend.
If you want to support a local organization and get fit at the same time, you might want to participate in this weekend's 5k run.
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is putting together their annual Run for your Life 5K.
Director of the run Kaylie Pierce says, the race is an opportunity to get the community together and encourage people to live a healthier lifestyle.
"We've got some booths that will be promoting osteopathic manipulation, some booths that will be promoting BMI calculations and blood glucose readings and blood pressure readings so the idea is to promote health throughout the region," said Pierce.
Pierce says they have raised close to $14,000 so far for this year's charity.
All proceeds from this year's race will go to the YWCA here in Yakima.
The race will take place tomorrow at the PNWU campus from 8 to 11 in the morning.
People can register online, or at the event for $25.
