Over 500 wreaths placed at Grandview cemetery to honor fallen veterans
GRANDVIEW, Wash.- People and veterans in Grandview also participated in Wreaths Across America with the help from Walmart employees.
Over 500 live wreaths were put in front of graves at the Grandview cemetery, as a symbol of keeping the memory of those that gave their lives in service.
While the event brought many from the community together, Korean War veteran John L Travis Sr. said he wishes for a time when wreathes won’t be needed.
“It brought back a few memories but I get teary eyed every time I think of them. It's just the way it is I guess,” he said.
People with The American Legion held up a flag saying POW and MIA to remember those that who were never found or identified during war.
