Naches Valley School District reach a deal two months into school year

NACHES, Wash. - Naches teachers may not be striking in November.

Naches Valley School District (NVSD) Superintendent Duane Lyons said the district has reached a deal for teacher contracts, which determine how much teachers will be paid.

Teachers previously threatened to strike if they didn't have official deals by November 5.

Lyons tells Action News the district plans to bring it to a vote for teachers to accept Thursday, Oct. 18. If teachers approve, NVSD then plans to bring it before the school board early next week to be ratified.

NVSD hopes to have the deal ratified Tuesday.
