The body of a Vancouver dad who has been missing for several days has been found, according to his family and police.

According to James Rennells' family, his body was found in bushes by a search crew Wednesday morning.

He was last seen Friday, Dec. 22 at work. He left his boss's house around 8:30 p.m. About an hour later, he called his fiancée and said he was on his way. He never came home.

Rennells' car was found last weekend at Leverich Park in Vancouver. It was trashed with items that didn't belong to him. His fiancée, Kashala Wilkinson, said Rennells' pants and belt were found in the park.

Wilkinson planned to marry Rennells, the father of their 7-month-old daughter.

She says she never expected anything like this to happen.

"I'm just in shock right now. I don't know how to feel, our baby needs him," Wilkinson said.

Wilkinson and Rennells' sister, Janice Kreier, were part of a search party on Christmas Day. They were hoping to find him alive, but now his family wonders how they will move on without him.

"It's going to make every Christmas -- it's never going to be the same for me, it's never going to be the same," Kreier said. "It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life. It's like someone took the breath from my chest."

All are wishing they had one more moment with Rennells.

"I couldn't see him; I couldn't say goodbye to him," Kreier said.

As Wilkinson gripped the jacket that still smelled like Rennells, she thought of her daughter and what their life could have been.

"I love him and I miss him. I wish he was here, and I wish I could say goodbye," Wilkinson said.

His body was found Wednesday. Police say the cause of death is still under investigation. Rennells' family hopes someone will come forward and help them get answers.

His family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses as well as raising his daughter.
