Missing snowshoer found dead on Mount Rainier

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK -- A snowshoer who had been missing since Monday was found dead on Mount Rainier on Tuesday.

The body was found at the 4,500-foot level in the Nisqually drainage below Paradise.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the male snowshoer.

The snowshoer, a 23-year-old Texas man, went missing after separating from his partner while coming down from the Muir Snowfield.

A search began at 7 p.m. Monday and ended at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

It resumed Tuesday with 32 people.
