Man who allegedly fired shots after confrontation at the SunDome arrested
YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima police say a man who pulled his gun after a confrontation at the Yakima Valley SunDome is now facing assault charges.
Police said a security guard confronted 23-year-old Emilio Gamboa-Barbosa and his friend after a private event at the SunDome building Friday because he was acting inappropriately.
They say at one point Gamboa-Barbosa pulled out a gun and fired shots into the air.
Yakima police later found and arrested the suspect after tracking down his vehicle based on a description provided.
Representatives with the State Fair Park said the story is a bit different than how police describe it.
They said the party was over and the man was stopped because he was trying to take alcohol with him.
They say no shots were fired in or near the SunDome, and that apparently the shots were fired after the man was blocks away.
