Habitat for Humanity fundraiser set for Wednesday
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima's Habitat for Humanity is inviting the public to dinner and an auction.
The non-profit says they're hoping to raise $80,000 for their next home build, and they plan to do it by auctioning off artwork made by local artists.
People will be able to bid on one-of-a-kind jewelry and paintings, wine and weekend getaways.
Isabel Garcia with Habitat for Humanity says it’s all to help them put a roof over the heads of a needy family.
“Yakima County is suffering from affordable housing. We have a one percent vacancy rate, and housing is needed, so that’s why we do our mission of providing affordable housing to very low income families in the valley,” she said.
Tickets are $50 and include dinner, drinks, and dessert.
It's Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Spring Creek Homestead in Union Gap. More event details can be found here.
