YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Granger Police Chief Robert Perales is on administrative leave after getting charged with felony stalking, and perjury according to court documents.

Court papers say Perales intentionally and repeatedly harassed or followed his ex-girlfriend from the end of April 2015 to the beginning of May 2015.

The documents say the victim had reasonable fear against Perales and that he should have known she felt afraid, intimidated, or harassed by him.

Perales has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to Menke Jackson Law Firm who represents the City of Granger.

The court papers say Perales was armed with a firearm during the incidences.

Deputies say Perales lied on the stand when testifying for a harassment complaint from the same woman in June 2015.

He's expected to appear in court in two weeks.
