YAKIMA, Wash. - Four people police say were involved in a shots fired incident at a Yakima convenience store last year are now charged with robbery.
Yakima Police Department officials said two masked men robbed Roadrunner Deli Mart at S. 3rd Avenue back in May of 2017. One of them was armed with a gun.
Witnesses said one of the robbers shot at the ceiling of the store while demanding cash from the register. According to court documents, the robber threatened to shoot the clerk if he did not comply.
The robbers then got away with the money in the till, according to reports. Police said the two got away with an estimated $100 to $200.
Surveillance footage taken at the store shows one of the suspects lifting the bandana covering his face.
Police arrested four suspects in this case, including Alexander Garza who is suspected of firing the shot, according to court documents.
The four are charged with first degree robbery. Garza, and two other suspects, are also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Garza's bail is set at $50,000.
