YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A former Yakima County Sheriff candidate is facing domestic violence assault charges.
Court papers say 42-year-old Anthony Bosworth assaulted his 17-year-old daughter.
Witnesses told police Bosworth threw his daughter to the ground outside near the 2500 block of Nob Hill Blvd.
Bosworth held her down by putting his knee on her chest, court papers say.
He put both hands around her neck and choked her until she couldn't breathe or speak, court papers say.
Bosworth told police his daughter ran away, so he was trying to keep her in his custody.
The victim suffered from a sore throat and neck, pain when swallowing, and scrapes on her arms, according to court papers.
Bail for Bosworth is set for $25,000.
Bosworth was found guilty of having a gun on federal property in Spokane as part of a protest in October 2015.
