Free fireworks displays happening in the Yakima Valley
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - People spending their Fourth of July holiday in the Yakima Valley will have opportunities to view some spectacular fireworks.
The cities of Yakima, Granger, Selah and Sunnyside are inviting the community to public fireworks displays during the holiday, according to the Yakima County Fire Marshal’s Office.
A Fourth of July event in Yakima will be held at State Fair Park. The event includes a free fireworks show and carnival rides.
According to Yakima Valley Tourism, a fireworks display in Granger is best seen from Hisey Park, and folks in Sunnyside can enjoy a show at Sunnyside High School.
A celebration in Selah begins at 2 p.m. featuring live music, food vendors and even a pie eating contest.
Fire officials want to remind folks that possessing fireworks is illegal in the entire Yakima County, with the exception of enrolled tribal members on the Yakama Nation Reservation.
