Downtown Yakima streets undergo repairs, close to traffic
YAKIMA, Wash. - Those who commute in the downtown area of Chestnut and 2nd Street may need to plan extra driving time.
A section of Chestnut Avenue and 2nd Street are undergoing street repairs from Monday, Sept. 11 through Sept. 22, according to a city of Yakima press release.
The sections of roads are closed to traffic and crews marked detour routes.
City leaders said the Millennium Plaza parking lot can be accessed from 3rd Street, instead of 2nd Street.
Officials want to caution drivers that work zone speed limits are 20 miles per hour in Yakima.
