Dog survives after being left inside a car during hot temperatures
YAKIMA Wa. -- A dog is now safe after its owner left the dog inside a car with the windows shut, during today’s Folklife Festival at Franklin Park.
Animal Control along with leaders from the festival tried helping the dog stay cool meanwhile they looked for the owner.
The owner was found and the dog was released from the car.
An ambulance showed up as well to make sure the dog was in good condition.
The Yakima Humane Society says temperatures inside vehicles rise quickly and can be 20 degrees hotter than outside.
YHS wants to remind people to never leave your pets in your car, even for a short time.
