WAPATO, Wash. - A 14-year-old boy is in jail after deputies say he led police on a car chase of over 100 miles per hour.
The Yakima County Sheriff's Office tried to stop a vehicle that was driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone on US 97 near milepost 73 in Yakima County, at 10 a.m., Thursday.
The car continued driving away and reached speeds up to 120 miles per hour, deputies said.
The speeding car passed other vehicles and semi trucks on east 97, swerving in the left and right lanes.
Reports said the driver later crashed the car into a shed at the end of a residential dead-end street in Wapato.
No injuries were reported in this pursuit.
