Deadline to register for primary elections is Monday

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - If you want to vote in the primary election, you only have until Monday to register.

The primary elections are August 7 and this is the election that narrows down the pool of candidates running for office.

Yakima County elections says they are sending out over 100,000 ballots and are hoping for a strong return. A sample ballot for the upcoming election is attached to this story.

If you're not registered to vote, you have until July 9 if you want to vote in this election.

Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says after Monday, only those who move to Yakima County from out of state will be able to register.

"So if you're not registered to vote, make sure you get that done by the ninth and it can be done as easy as an online process, you can drop by our office Monday until the close of business." Ross says.
