City of Yakima to hold Winter Weather News Conference

YAKIMA, Wash. - Winter weather has continued to impact the Yakima area over the last week or so.

In a press release sent by the City of Yakima, City Manager Cliff Moore is holding a news conference today at 1:00 pm at Yakima City Hall.

“The winter weather Yakima has been experiencing over the last week is expected to continue for at least the next few days,” said Moore. “In these sorts of conditions, people need to be especially aware of their safety and be as patient as possible as long as the winter weather continues to affect our area.”

In the news conference Moore will discuss the the effects heavy snow, low temperatures, high winds and other severe conditions are having on the community.

The release said that during the news conference, Moore will discuss the state of emergency declared by the City on Saturday, the City’s ongoing efforts to remove snow from roadways, and other winter weather-related information.
