Car examined for evidence in connection to police shooting

YAKIMA, Wash. -- State troopers went through the car that belonged to a man shot and killed by a Yakima police officer at a car wash.

Detectives examined Rocendo Arias' car Tuesday.

Officer Casey Gilette shot Arias at the car wash on Nob Hill Boulevard.

Police said Arias had his finger on the trigger of an Airsoft gun when he was shot in the head. Gilette told investigators he felt threatened.

Police said the officer has now hired an attorney.
