17-year-old sentenced to nearly nine years in prison for stabbing death
YAKIMA, Wash. - A judge has sentenced a teen convicted of stabbing someone to death to eight and a half years behind bars for killing another teen when he was just 16-years-old.
Christian Salazar, 17, pleaded guilty Monday to second degree murder of 18-year-old Joshua Mungia back in July of 2016.
Witnesses say a fight broke out at an underage party in Sunnyside when Salazar stabbed Mungia five times.
Mungia died from his injuries later that night.
Salazar is sentenced to eight and a half years in prison and three years of community custody.
