Man faces murder and assault charges after a Halloween stabbing
YAKIMA, Wash.- A deadly Halloween night and now a man faces murder and assault charges.
Nicholas Bryant, 28, was arrested Monday night after Yakima police got a call about a stabbing in the 600 block of South 6th Street.
According to court papers, police found two victims- Bryant’s 36-year-old wife, Tisha Bryant and 46-year-old, Christopher Gilchrist.
Both victims were taken to the hospital where Gilchrist died about 1 am.
Bryant’s wife is expected to make a full recovery.
"We know who did what, we just don't know why ... we don't know the motivation of this attack ... that's really what we've been focusing on right now," said Mike Bastinelli of the Yakima Police Department.
Police say Christopher Gilchrist was an acquaintance of Nicholas and Tisha Bryant.
Bryant will appear in court again later this month.
