Jordan was born and raised in Texas. She spent most of her childhood growing up in the small town of Weatherford before moving to Denton to attend the University of North Texas, where she received her Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism as well as a minor in English and Social Sciences.
During her time at UNT she pursed a variety of non-profit and mission activities. In December of 2012 she traveled to Uganda to work and teach at an orphanage geared towards outreach to children affected or effected by HIV/AIDS. She also participated in her local church’s mission opportunities to serve in both Atlanta, Georgia and Malaga, Spain.
While studying Broadcast Journalism, Jordan practiced her craft as a reporter and anchor in her university’s newscast, NTDaily TV in the Fall of 2015. In the Spring of 2016 she spent her semester interning for CBS affiliate KTVT-TV in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jordan’s favorite hobbies are traveling, hiking, writing, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. In her ideal scenario she would have a constant supply of hot coffee, Sour Patch Kids, French music, and 80 degree weather.
Jordan and her Husband are currently living in the West Valley with their two dogs, Milo and Klyde. Her husband is her biggest fan in this new transition and her “go-to” exploring companion. Together they have traveled to numerous locations in the U.S. and Europe, constantly trying to absorb and observe different cultures and environments. Their most recent adventure of course being the 2,000 mile journey from Texas to Washington.
Jordan is excited to be a part of the Yakima Valley community and begin getting to know the faces that call Yakima home. She hopes to bring some southern charm and hospitality during her time here in the Pacific North West and maybe learn to say “you guys” rather than “ya’ll.” If you would like to contact her with story ideas, tips, or just to say hello she is always available for contact via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
