Ariella Toren was born in New York City and grew up in several places including Miami, Pittsburgh and Chicago. Her interest in storytelling began with people-watching on bustling city streets. This intrigue eventually led her to DePaul University's College of Communication where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in broadcast journalism.
While at DePaul, she anchored and reported for the weekly newscast Good Day DePaul and covered stories on neighborhood crime, social issues, and various topics affecting the student community. Ariella is passionate about humanitarian efforts and wants to become a foreign correspondent. She interned doing media relations for two international nonprofits helping women and children, and spent a summer at ECTV in Evanston, IL hosting a program highlighting non-profit organizations in the area.
After graduating, she worked as a freelance editor before becoming a professional interviewer for the Associated Press at the National Opinion Research Center. Ariella loves meeting new people and sharing their stories!
When Ariella isn't working, you can find her enjoying almost any outdoor activity or taking on different art projects. She is very excited to be in the Pacific Northwest and call Yakima her new home! Feel free to send her any story ideas or just say hi!
