No shakeup coming in the SCAC

The SCAC says no to adding some prestigeous power schools to the league.

Granger, a strong competitior in the South Central Athletic Conference. But, for the Spartans and the rest of the SCAC to approve a request by Chelan, Cascade and Cashmere to join their league would mean as much as 200 percent more travel per sport for some SCAC schools. Way too expensive for South Central Athletic Directors who KIMA, first to report, voted unanimously today to recommend to their principals and superintendents against allowing the Caribue Trail League teams to join next year. They'll vote tomorrow. Chelan, Cascade and Cashmere needing to find a new home with their league shrinking in half because of the new student enrollment reclassification numbers. The SCAC will also be a little smaller with Mabton and Warden dropping from 1A to the B's in the Fall. But, the South Central Athletic Conference will carry on just fine with 13 loyal schools.
