Local Golf Fans at Boeing Classic
SNOQUALMIE, Wa - Fred Couples is perhaps the best golfer to ever come out of the Pacific Northwest and he was back at the Boeing Classic this past weekend after missing last year's event because of ongoing back problems.
A father and son team from Grandview made the trip to Snoqualmie Ridge to cheer on the senior golf stars and there was plenty from the Yakima Valley and Central Washington that made the trip to take in this prestigious event.
"I am actually visiting from out of town (and) visiting some friends," Nichole Tucker said. "Throw a party every year, obviously to watch the golfers, my husband's a huge golf fan."
"We're from Central Washington," Kris Vedder said. "We really enjoy the fact it's not so hot over here, it's enjoyable to watch all the golfers and beautiful weather."
"The Snoqualmie Ridge area, it's fabulous, everybody's great, love coming here," Brenda Kuhns said.
Couples was unable to win the Boeing Classic in front of family and friends from Seattle, where he grew up. But, he scored a respectable 8-under par for the tournament and also took time to sign autographs for the fans in attendance.
