Hot August Nights Heats up Selah

SELAH, Wa - The Hot August Nights softball tournament with teams from all over the Northwest featuring players ages 16-18 kicked off on Friday night at Carlon Park in Selah.

The Tigers, the one local team with players from Yakima and Selah, lost their first game to the Eugene Ice 3-2, but rebounded to win 12-1 in five innings over the Spokane Stealth just before midnight on Friday.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday night at 9:45 p.m. when they square off against the Fury and then take on the Bellingham Bash at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Hot August Nights is free and open to the pubic and the concession stands open throughout the night.


UPDATE: On Saturday evening the Tigers defeated the Fury 6-1 but lost to the Bellingham Bash 16-5 early Sunday morning and we're eliminated from the tournament.
