Eisenhower Renames Softball Field in Honor of Longtime Coach
YAKIMA, Wa - Through the years there have been many great coaches in the Yakima Valley. This one is truly unique, truly a living legend and soon to be forever immortalized at Eisenhower High School.
Eisenhower opened its new softball field a couple of years ago and when longtime coach Carol Finney started the program at Ike they played their home games at Larson Park.
Finney was instrumental in the development of girls athletics with her career spanning more than four decades at Eisenhower, where she coached the Cadet's softball, basketball and track teams.
She also spent nearly 40 years as a volleyball official. Finney is both a WIAA hall of famer as a coach and is also a member of the Officials' Hall of Fame.
On May 11, Finney will receive the ultimate honor as Eisenhower High School renames the Cadet's softball field as Carol Finney Field.
