Central Mens Hoops Picked to Finish 3rd in GNAC

ELLENSBURG, Wa - The Central Washington Wildcats mens' basketball team has only one starter returning for the 2016-17 season.

CWU will have to replace two conference all-stars from last season's team that finished fifth in the GNAC.

But, the good news, the Wildcats will have some fresh faces and good ones at that as they are picked to finish third in the GNAC for the upcoming season.

This would be a major improvement from last season and among those who could make an immediate difference is freshman Coleman Sparling.

The former Ellensburg Bulldogs' star is the son of Wildcats' head coach Greg Sparling.

Central opens the season at home next Friday, November 4 against Pacific Lutheran; tip-off scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

The Wildcats' womens' team plays an exhibition this Saturday night at Washington; their home opener is also next Friday against Pacific Lutheran with a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
