A Wildcat Hero leading the Cats' Classic

The greatest Central Washington University quarterback ever.

Still doing his part for the Cats....on the greens.

Jon Kitna and friends, teeing off at beautiful Suncadia........for what else......the Jon Kitna Wildcat Classic. Nearly 300 CWU alums and passionate supporters of crimson and black athletics.....including a guy who followed in Kitna's footsteps...quarterback Ryan Four-Knee-aae.

Ryan "It's a great event. Bringing back friends. Alumni for a great cause. See some old Buddies? Absolutely. Tell some stories? Maybe a few."

A lot of these former Central Athletes....still got some game....and, love and respect for Jon Kitna and the Cats.

Dennis "Having Jon kind of allow us to put his name on this tournament is phenominal for us"

And, away they go....the wildcat cart caravan. Nearly 300 players in the of the biggest in the northwest......with big hearts and generous contributors, this year setting a tournament donation record. Central doesn't get those gigantic tv paychecks like big spending Pac 12 schools including the U-Dub and WSU. So, fundraisers such as the Jon Kitna Classic.....vital to raise scholarship money. The Wildcat Club got it all started. The man in charge....former running back John Delaney.

John Delaney "Everything I do for Central we give back absolutely feeling good about what we're doing for the student athletes."

All wildcat sports represented at the Kitna.

Jon Kitna "What do you guys got going here? Raffle off your own jersey."

These football guys raffling off a number three jersey. That would be from the 1995 national championship team.....that would have been worn by the man himself, Jon Kitna.

Jon Kitna "We've been doing it for years and years. Trying to support Central Athletics make Central a better place. How's your golf game? Awful. There's no other word to desribe it. It's awful"

The one time Seahawk and long time NFL veteran and now 40 something teacher and high school coach in Tacoma can still find his way around the fairways...a golf fanatic...Jon playing 30 some holes on this day....but, it takes special guys like these former players to make the cut on the Kitna scramble team......bad the price......
