Yakima art show to feature local artists with disabilities

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A local art show will highlight the abilities of those with disabilities.

Yakima artists who are also disabled created the artwork. Their pieces will be featured in a show next week. You can bid on them in a silent auction to take them home.

All of the money raised will be reinvested into programs for the disabled.

"It gives our family members a chance to shine," said Faith Richardson, the mother of one of the artists. "It gives our friends and family an opportunity to come and see it and it gives the community the opportunity to get to know the disabled a little bit better."

Entrust Community Service is hosting the event next Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harman Center.

General admission is $15.
