It's the first time Harrison Middle School will be at the VEX World Robotics finals.
"Robo-Nerds and a Pedal" is one of hundreds of teams that will compete in Southern California.
The Harrison team designed, built and programmed its robot.
In the final competition, it will move balls through an obstacle course.
The team hopes to take home the big win.
"We've put a lot of time and effort into this robot because it means a lot to us, and we just want to show everybody that, and that we can do just as good as anybody else," said team member Andrea Barcenas.
A GEAR UP grant is paying for the students' trip. The three-day competition ends Saturday.
