UPDATE: Identity of victim in S. 8th Avenue shooting released

UPDATE: YAKIMA, Wash. - The identity of the 18-year-old injured in a shooting on S. 8th Avenue Tuesday has been identified by police.

Antonio Cisneros, 18, of Yakima was injured after suffering a gunshot wound in the 1100 block of S. 8th Avenue Tuesday morning according to Yakima police.

Police said they responded to the scene where a gray Honda was reported to have fled from the scene after the shooting.

Yakima Police Spokesperson Mike Bastinelli said this crime is believed to be gang-related and is not a threat to the general public.

Memorial Hospital officials said Cisneros is in stable condition as of Wednesday, January 4.

Police are asking for anyone with information on this crime to contact them immediately.

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police are investigating after a shooting on S. 8th Avenue left one person injured.

Authorities said they responded to the 1100 block of S. 8th Ave. Tuesday morning where an 18-year-old was taken to Regional Hospital for gunshot wounds. The victim was then transported to Memorial Hospital for surgery according to officials.


Yakima police said the man is in serious condition.

Police say they are still looking for the suspect.

"As far as the suspect, at this time all we have is that there was a grey-colored nineties Honda four-doors that was leaving the area,” said Mike Bastinelli, Yakima Police Department.

Bastinelli saID this crime is believed to be gang-related and is not a threat to the general public.

Police are asking for anyone with information on this crime to contact them immediately.
