Federal trial in Yakima focuses on drones

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Stolen government secrets about drones are at the center of a federal trial here in Yakima.

Prosecutors presented evidence against Stephen Ward today.

The case stems from Ward's days as a Navy contractor. He once worked as a technical writer on a maintenance manual for a drone. Ward was fired in 2011.

Afterward, the government says Ward tried selling a copy of the drone manual for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

He's pleaded not guilty to stealing trade secrets.

The trial is expected to last around two weeks.
