City moves forward on plans to spend millions

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima City Council is moving forward on plans to spend millions on a new city pool and revitalizing North First Street.

Those decisions came in a study session Tuesday morning.

Council might issue a $13 million bond to pay for an aquatic center and the revitalization.

There was some debate on whether the pool should cater to kids or the elderly.

Both projects still need official proposals.

Leaders held off on pursuing financing for the Downtown Plaza.
