A convicted killer sentenced to 28 years in prison

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A convicted killer was given a 28 year prison sentence. Ray Betancourth never pulled the trigger, but was found guilty of murder and assault.

He drove a friend to the scene where a 15-year old was killed. Family of Betancourth and his victim were both in court for the sentencing.

Betancourth apologized for his role.

"I regret every action that I made that whole day...I wish I would have took a different path," said Ray Betancourth.

The prosecutor originally asked for a 33-year sentence.
