Johnson announces another run for state House

YAKIMA, Wash. -- One of Yakima's representatives in the Washington House of Representatives says he wants another term in office.

State Rep. Norm Johnson announced Wednesday that he will run for the 14th Legislative District seat he currently occupies. The Republican was first elected in 2008 and previously served as a Yakima City Council member.

Johnson says his priorities include public safety, education, and economic growth.

The 14th Legislative District includes parts of Yakima, West Valley, Tieton, Naches, Cowiche and much of the Yakama Nation, along with Klickitat and Skamania Counties and part of Clark County.

Rep. Charles Ross of Naches, the other state House member from the 14th District, announced earlier this year that he will leave his seat to run for Yakima County Auditor.
