Another candidate announces campaign for Congress

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Another candidate has officially announced a campaign for Washington's 4th Congressional District seat.

Tony Sandoval says he's been active in Yakima County Democratic politics for 25 years.

He announced his candidacy at the old Cascade Mill site. Sandoval says he chose the location because he sees it as an opportunity for jobs.

Most Democratic Party leaders in the district have already endorsed former congressional staffer Estakio Beltran, but Sandoval is not discouraged. He calls himself a centrist.

"My reputation's been that I'll talk to anybody and I have, and I've worked with both the Republicans, Democrats and whoever wants to do something good for our community," said Sandoval.

Sandoval is running for the seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Doc Hastings.
