YPD searching for two armed suspects in Conoco convenience store robbery
YAKIMA, Wash. - Police in Yakima are trying to identify two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store.
Yakima Police Department (YPD) reports said two men entered the Conoco convenience store located at 3602 Tieton Drive Thursday, March 16 around 9:50 p.m.
The suspects appeared to have entered with weapons and one pointed a long, possibly AR style rifle at the store clerk and demanded the opening of the register while the other went behind the counter to retrieve the money according to police.
Reports say the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police describe the suspects as male and the suspect who carried the rifle appears to be white and wore a baseball hat that may have displayed an Philadelphia Eagles logo.
Police are unsure if this incident is tied to an earlier armed robbery that occurred at Nick's Market on March 11 as police reports said the suspects involved were very aggressive in nature.
YPD is asking anyone with information regarding these armed robberies to call detectives at 575-6212.
