Yakima's City Services to close early for New Year's weekend
YAKIMA Wash. -- Several places in Yakima will be closing early Friday because of New Year’s weekend.
The city of Yakima’s City Services Center counter located on the first floor of Yakima City Hall will close half an hour earlier tomorrow.
The City Services Center will close at 4:30 instead of 5 in the evening to allow staff to complete necessary end–of–the year transaction processing procedures.
City Spokesperson Randy Beehler says, people should plan ahead if they are thinking of stopping by the center.
“If people have to take care of something tomorrow, they should either come in a little bit earlier or frankly wait until Tuesday. Most city offices are closed on Monday so if folks come in on Tuesday they can get everything taken care of then too," said Beehler.
Customers usually use this center to sign up or pay for utility services, transit passes, parking permits or parking fines.
